href="http://www.braziliangraphicdesign.com/tag/marketing/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with Marketing">marketing</a> and promoting techniques – in which target audiences may only see a poster when they reach the theater, long after they&#8217;ve watched the trailer and read about it online – that subvert the original role of the poster, changes in <a
href="http://www.braziliangraphicdesign.com/tag/technology/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with technology">technology</a> that liberate the poster from paper, as well as its collectible aspects, and some of the &#8220;style formulas&#8221; specific genres use.</p><p>The debate and the exhibition were some of the parallel events of the 2nd Brazilian Film Fest in <a
href="http://www.braziliangraphicdesign.com/tag/china/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with China">China</a>, that took place at the <a
href="http://www.thebeijinger.com/directory/Broadway-Cinematheque-MOMA-BC-MOMA" title="Broadway Cinematheque MOMA" target="_blank" class="liexternal">Broadway Cinematheque MOMA</a> in Beijing from November 17-22. It also featured a concert by musician, actor and soundtrack composer André Abujamra and a Q&amp;A session with André Klotzel, director of <a
href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1442578/" target="_blank" class="liimdb">Reflections of a Blender</a>, the movie that won the festival Judge&#8217;s Choice Award. The international jury was composed by directors Xie Fei, Liu Jiayin, Sam Voutas and Vicky Mohieddeen &amp; movie <a

href="http://pt.wikipedia.org/wiki/W/Brasil" title="W/Brasil" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="liwikipedia">W/Brasil</a> agency merged with <a
href="http://adage.com/directory/mccann-erickson/18" target="_blank" class="liexternal">McCann Erickson</a> in Brazil last year to form <a
href="http://www.wmccann.com.br/" title="W/McCann" target="_blank" class="liexternal">W/McCann</a>, was one of the first larger-than-life Brazilian creatives to start his own agency, create iconic ad characters and become part of the country&#8217;s popular culture. The most dramatic episode in the <a
href="http://www.braziliangraphicdesign.com/tag/film/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with film">film</a>, however, is likely to be Mr. Olivetto&#8217;s traumatic 53-day kidnapping ordeal in 2001 in <a
href="http://www.braziliangraphicdesign.com/tag/sao-paulo/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with São Paulo">São Paulo</a>. Snatched at a fake police roadblock, Mr. Olivetto ultimately managed to escape after being abandoned to die by the kidnappers who were demanding a multimillion dollar ransom.</p><p>The movie will be directed by <a
href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0576987/" title="Fernando Meirelles" target="_blank" class="liimdb">Fernando Meirelles</a>, who was an Oscar nominee for Best Director for foreign-language film &#8220;<a
href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0317248/" title="City of God" target="_blank" class="liimdb">City of God</a>&#8221; (Cidade de Deus, in the original Portuguese) in 2004. The movie will be based on a biography of Mr. Olivetto&#8217;s life and ad agency W/Brasil published in 2005 by <a
href="http://www.harpercollins.com/author/microsite/About.aspx?authorid=32989" target="_blank" class="liexternal">Fernando Morais</a>, a well-known Brazilian biographer.</p><p>Shooting starts on the film, budgeted at $4.5 million, later this year and it&#8217;s expected to be released in late 2012 or early 2013</p><p>via <a

href="http://www.fastcodesign.com/idea-2010/urban-graphic-design-for-bixiga-neighborhood-trabalho-grafica-urbana-para-o-bairro-do-bixi" target="_blank" class="liexternal">Environments Category</a>:</p><p>The urban painting project for the façades of houses and stores in the traditional <a
href="http://www.braziliangraphicdesign.com/tag/sao-paulo/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with São Paulo">São Paulo</a> Italian district of Bixiga was developed to meet the requirements of the “Color <a
href="http://www.braziliangraphicdesign.com/tag/sao-paulo/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with São Paulo">São Paulo</a> Program”, which is dedicated to preserving the city’s architectural heritage in districts of cultural, historic and commercial interest. The <a
href="http://www.braziliangraphicdesign.com/tag/design/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with Design">design</a> proposal incorporated the traditional colors of Bixiga – green, white and red from the Italian flag – that were used on house and store facades covering a two block area. The greatest challenge posed by the <a
href="http://www.braziliangraphicdesign.com/tag/design/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with Design">design</a> was to intervene in an urban context with a strong cultural heritage while taking into account the diversity of interests and preferences among local traders and residents.</p><p>via <a

href="http://www.choquecultural.com.br/" target="_blank" class="liexternal">Choque Cultural</a> and its attempts to keep the tradition of letterpress <a
href="http://creativereview.co.uk/back-issues/creative-review/2009/january-2009/lambe-lambe" target="_blank" class="liexternal">Lambe-Lambe</a> posters going by using Gráfica Fidalga to produce books and prints.</p><p>We thought it would be interesting to ask the <a
href="http://www.braziliangraphicdesign.com/tag/workshop/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with workshop">workshop</a> to create the artwork for our cover. Choque&#8217;s Baixo Ribeiro designed a layout using text supplied by us. We also gave him an EPS of the <a

The drink is a local tradition in which Maranhao residents take great pride. Guarana Jesus consumers, sellers and even manufacturers were surveyed to create a <a
